EDO : NDYM Highly Condemns The Show Of Shame Witnessed At Edo University Iyamho,Calls For Reconciliation

The Niger Delta Youth Movement (NDYM), Edo State Chapter has condemned in its entirety the violence that took place at the premises of Edo University, Iyamho and that of the residence of the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) both in Iyamho Edo State , over the weekend.
In a communique condemning the actions and signed by the PRO of the movement,Mr Ediabonya Osamuyi on behalf of the state chairman ,Hon Asoro Philips who addressed its members at an emergency meeting held on Tuesday the 5th of November , decreed what he described as the growing rate at which Edo Youths are been converted as thugs in the hands of  political gladiators.

According to him Edo youths deserve a better deal from their Political leaders rather than reducing them to mere tools for political thuggery.
He further appealed to all the concerned parties to shift their grounds and find a common front in settling the lingering political crisis that has been rocking the ruling Party in the State, the All Progressive Congress (APC) and by extension the state.
In his words ” it is not morally right for our youths to be known for thuggery in our Country’
The Niger Delta Youth Movement (NDYM) needs to show our concern over this endless political feud that is showcasing our dear State in a negative light before the world.
As a matter of fact both parties at the forefront of this imbroglio, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and H.E Governor Godwin Obaseki are both great and illustrious sons of Edo State and as a group we hold them in very high esteem.
Comrade Adams Oshiomole has represented the State as a worthy Ambassador at both National and International levels , we appreciate his uncommon contribution to the development of the State right from his days as a Labour leader, through as a Governor of our State and now as the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
The communique further stated that the NDYM, Edo State, equally appreciates the sterling leadership qualities and efforts of the amiable Governor of Edo State, Mr Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki in his efforts to re-position the State economically and make it competitive with other States across Nigeria ,the statement also  acknowledged the numerous  ongoing developmental strides across the State.

Finally, the youth movement equally used the opportunity to appeal to both parties to sheath their swords and embrace peace for the overall best interest of the good people of Edo State who need a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere to be able to benefit the much needed dividends of democracy. When two Elephants fight, it is the grass they say that suffers.
